We’ve learned gyukimaru is superstitious enough to believe the fall of wano was divine judgement by ryuma’s spirit. What we don’t know is if gyukimaru isn’t alone in this way of thinking. If he isn’t alone then it seems the resolution of this sword god business could in itself bring in more allies since there seems to be people like gyukimaru who are hesitant to join the alliance just because of these superstitions.
By resolution I mean, either the superstition is completely dispelled or somehow zoro convinces gyukimaru that this sword god is no longer angry and wants zoro to have the sword and they should join the alliance. And even if gyukimaru is the only one who believes in this sword god, he might also only give up his weapons after the superstitions are dealt with. Whichever the way it goes, zoro has to be involved and he’s an atheist so it gonna be quite difficult for him to tolerate this superstition to begin with. I’m assuming only something like the explanation of how black blades are formed can somehow get him to take this seriously.
