Well, it seems like Oda is setting up events everywhere except Egg-Head, so this should all culminate in something really cool in terms of plot reveals in Egg-Head, to tie things up, or so I hope. This arc is borrowing a lot of previous stuff from Water 7, and the fact that we just found out about "hidden" group of 9 people that work for the government, considered the most elite force they have, seems like the modern day equivalent of CP9. I bet we can draw a lot of metaphors between them, adjusted to the current powerlevels, but perhaps it's too early to speculate. I also wanna know who's going to get fleshed out this arc. He also has some skill in cartography, as he was the one who drew the map of Dressrosa and Green Bit that Law shared with the Straw Hats. However, he appears to be a bit messy, as the map had his paw print on it, and Nami stated that his map-drawing and navigation skills are far from her own. Bepo is fairly strong-willed, being able to withstand a blast of Silvers Rayleigh's Haki. As a member of the Mink Tribe, Bepo, like all other minks, is a born warrior. Though he has not yet shown it yet, it can be presumed he is able to use Electro and transform into his Sulong form when gazing at the full moon like every other mink. He is also a skilled martial artist combining his fighting skills with his superior physical abilities as a mink, allowing him to take out several Marines with ease but he is not strong enough to break a Pacifista as when he attempted to kick one, he wounded his leg, similar to Sanji's attack on Bartholomew Kuma. After the timeskip, Bepo's fighting skills and physical prowess significantly improved. In the anime, he could hold his own against the Gifters of the Beast Pirates for twelve consecutive hours before Nekomamushi forced him to retreat. On their way to the next island, the Heart Pirates were ambushed by the Blackbeard Pirates, who were in search of Road Poneglyphs. The attack damaged their submarine and infected the crew with the Feminization Disease; Bepo became infected and turned into a woman. Linlin's tyranny made Pudding feel like her mother's puppet, and she was unable to go against her orders, despite internally resenting her. Pudding is a master of deceit, being an extremely skilled and talented actress with a specialty in drama and enticement, with Big Mom thinking highly of her ability and doting on her because of it. Before selective targets as much as in public, Pudding can unerringly adopt the personality traits of a wholly kind, gentle, and innocent woman in vast contrast to her true self, fooling nearly anyone she wants into utter manipulation, including the citizenry of Totto Land at large and some of the Straw Hats, such as Luffy and the smart, mindful Nami and Sanji (despite Luffy's and Sanji's aptitude in Kenbunshoku Haki, to the point where said three were utterly befuddled upon learning the truth); supposedly only her family is aware of Pudding's true nature. A master seductress, she uses her beauty in conjunction with such feigned persona to captivate men, particularly shown with Sanji and Brook who were completely charmed by her (as opposed to Pedro, who was not but is noted to be excessively cautious toward any stranger). More specifically, Pudding can cry at will and has a knack for making overly dramatic expressions, like when she comically mimicked Sanji in ways that Nitro and Rabiyan noted were absolutely spot on. However, it would seem that it takes a lot of effort for Pudding to pull of her acts. She would require moments of when she could let loose her true emotions to others, such as when she sadistically revealed her true colors to Reiju when she began to investigate her, but only because she could use her Devil Fruit ability to wipe out her memory of it. Also, periods of great shock and emotion can disrupt her ability to fool others, such as when she was surprised and saddened when Sanji became the first person to ever compliment her third eye. And according to Sanji, of all the people Pudding had fooled with her acts, she deceived herself the most by convincing herself that she was a heartless monster with no true feelings for anyone else and nothing-else.

Van Augur

Van Augur nicknamed "The Supersonic", is the sniper of the Blackbeard Pirates, as well as one of the Ten Titanic Captains and captain of the Third Ship of the crew. Van Augur is extremely calm and analytical even during battle. He very rarely changes his facial expression. However, in his confrontation with Ace on Banaro Island, he showed a darker side - showing a devilish grin after a failed kill shot. Like his crewmates, Augur is a heavy believer in fate. He displays very strong loyalty to Blackbeard and the rest of the crew. He has no qualms about ending the lives of some seagulls to assert his luck on whether they would die from his shots or not. As the sniper of the Blackbeard Pirates and one of its founding members, Van Augur is an powerful pirate.

After the time-skip, he has become one of the Ten Titanic Captains of the crew that personally guard the Emperor Blackbeard, and has gained great authority in the crew as captain of its third Ship. Van Augur is shown to have great speed in shooting and running, as he did during his battle against Portgas D. Ace, by dodging their fire bullets. His powerful eyesight makes him a valuable asset as a scout for the crew, as he managed to spot Akainu on board an approaching Marine battleship. He also demonstrated superhuman stamina for his slim figure when he withstood one of Gura Gura no Mi of Whitebeard shockwaves (though not a direct hit) and Fleet Admiral Sengoku's shockwave with the rest of the Blackbeard Pirates, and recovered quickly. Augur ate the Wapu Wapu no Mi, a Paramecia-type Devil Fruit that allows him to teleport himself and others from place to place. Van Augur is possibly one of the greatest master marksmen in the entire series. With his favorite rifle Senriku, Augur is able to fire bullets over tremendous distances with extraordinary accuracy. This is shown when Chopper suggested to Usopp that the seagulls flying around their ship were sniped from an extremely long distance, Nami immediately disclaims it since they could not see the island Augur was on, saying it was 'impossible' for any sniper to do. Augur was even able to tell after he shot the birds that one of them did not die immediately, showing his immensely sharp vision. Another example of his immense marksmanship skills (which is seen in the anime) is when he shot through the bullets of Impel Down's staff, and then through the barrels of their guns, destroying them. It was because of this that he was also able to discern Akainu being on board of the incoming battleship from afar. Van Augur uses a rifle called Senriku in battle. The rifle is extra long in length, and allows extraordinary long range shooting. Combined with his eyesight and immense marksmanship skills, this makes Senriku a lethal long-range weapon. However, he also used it for pointblank attack against Whitebeard. Van Augur alongside Jesus Burgess, Doc Q and Stronger would join their captain in ambushing The Heart Pirates for their Road Poneglyph copies. Van Augur used his new Devil Fruit powers to transport himself and Burgess over to a nearby island to intercept the fleeing pirates.

Kuzan

Kuzan, better known by his former alias Aokiji, is a former Marine admiral and the first one to be revealed. He was nominated by Sengoku for the position of fleet admiral. However, after losing the position to Sakazuki, he resigned from the Marines. He is a minor antagonist of the Long Ring Long Land Arc, and along with the other Marines, he is one of the major antagonists of the Marineford Arc. After he resigned his position as a Marine Admiral. His successor is Issho better known as Fujitora. As a former admiral, Kuzan was able to command a vast number of Marine troops under his rank, and had the authority, prestige, influence and affuence to revoke any Shichibukai's at any time. Most of all, he had the ability to order a Buster Call attack on any island. In fact, his overall abilities were so vast that Sengoku suggested to World Government Commander-in-Chief Kong that Kuzan should become the succeeding fleet admiral. However, after leaving the Marines, he has forfeited these privileges. He was able to easily overpower Luffy and the other Straw Hats single-handedly.

A notable example of Kuzan’s reputation is Nico Robin from the Straw Hat Pirates, related to her childhood trauma, she constantly loses her grip and starts panicking whenever an admiral is around, this being significant as she rarely panics even in the most dangerous situations. He is also a skilled navigator, being able to travel the Grand Line with a bike and after the timeskip traveling the New World with a penguin named Camel. Along with this, he is very powerful, as being an admiral grants him the title of the strongest individual fighter within the World Government and Marines, and is able to fight against notably powerful figures such as Diamond Jozu, the Third Division Commander of the Whitebeard Pirates, defeating him with relative ease although Jozu was distracted during the fight, and could even fight Whitebeard himself equally. He also appears to have great speed and stealth attributes; being able to appear behind the Shichibukai, Donquixote Doflamingo without the latter noticing until he made his presence known. Furthermore, he was able to battle against his colleague Sakazuki on equal standing, and they dealt each other severe injuries during their 10 day duel to the death before Aokiji ultimately was defeated, thus demonstrating enhanced endurance. Kuzan was considered to be a massive asset to the Marines, and his departure left a negative impact to their military strength. Aside from that and his Devil Fruit powers, his physical attributes are also extremely high, as he is able to repel simultaneous attacks from Zoro, Luffy, and Sanji without taking any damage, and took a Haki imbued kick from Marco and was seen with no injuries moments later. He also jumped to a very extreme height in mere seconds, in order to freeze a pair of tsunamis caused by Whitebeard. He is also able to travel at tremendous speed, as seen when attacking Buggy, whether this is due to him using Soru, his Devil Fruit or just his natural speed is unknown. He also has extremely acute hearing, being able to hear activity underwater, before the Whitebeard War began. He was also acknowledged by Jaguar D. Saul, who had destroyed several huge warships and had lifted one by himself, that Kuzan's strength was abnormal, even before he was an admiral. Another testament to his power as an admiral is that he emerged mostly unharmed after the Whitebeard War. Kuzan has the powers of the Hie Hie no Mi, a Logia-type Devil Fruit that allows him to control, create, and become ice. He can create enough ice to cover a giant, a Sea King or several square miles of ocean within mere moments. He was even able to freeze the tsunamis created by Whitebeard, despite their size surpassing that of Marineford. In battle, he uses his ice powers to disable and immobilize enemies, freezing their bodies solid just by touching them, and threatening to shatter their fragile forms. Like other Logia users, he is capable of breaking himself into his particular element to avoid damage from most physical attacks. Kuzan also has extreme amounts of resistance towards cold, due to his Devil Fruit's element. This fruit is so powerful that his usage of it during his ten day battle with Akainu permanently changed the weather on one side of Punk Hazard, turning that side into a frozen wasteland. In addition, Kuzan is one of the few Devil Fruit users who has adapted their powers to travel efficiently across the sea. In his case, he freezes the water underneath his bicycle, Ao Chari, and then rides across the sea, due to the water freezing as the wheels pass over it. This freezing ability, which can be used on a very large scale, renders Kuzan one of the few Devil Fruit users who can actually counteract the weakness of falling into a large body of water and drowning, as he can just freeze the water and stand on the ice. Kuzan also seems to possess some limited resistance to sea water without freezing it, as shown when he inserted a portion of his real body into the sea without any adverse effects. It was stated that all vice admirals possess Haki, so with a rank above vice admiral, Kuzan can also use the ability. During the Battle of Marineford, Kuzan was seen using an advanced level Busoshoku Haki to negate Whitebeard's attempt to destroy the execution platform, by creating, with his fellow admirals, a shield combination of their three Haki. Kuzan possesses the ability to use Kenbunshoku Haki. Kuzan is shown to be quite adept at using weapons formed out of his ice powers, such as swords, spears, and tridents.

Akainu became Fleet Admiral in the worst possible era

In Chapter 1054 Akainu remarks he became Fleet Admiral during a very intense era. Seriously, he’s dealing with so many issues right now it’s insane to try and list it all.

His Organization is full of outright Traitors, people who don’t like him, and his authority is constantly being overstepped by other people in the Government without him really getting a say in it. Let me list all the issues he is currently dealing with at the moment:

Fujitora just straight up let Luffy escape. Like he just decided to not do his job and let one of the most Wanted Criminals leave.

Ryokugyu is a burden. Straight up. Yeah he’s strong but he doesn’t listen, you tell him to get Fujitora out of there and he’s just like “No.” and then after FAILING to capture ANY of the Revolutionaries WITH THE HELP FROM FUJITORA, he decides to walk into Wano, without any prior order to do so, so you try and salvage the situation by going, “Listen Ryokugyu, don’t get into any shit, just be careful, okay” and IMMEDIATELY after you finish saying this, this motherfucker is in uncharted foreign territory, calling in Fleets before getting stalled by the Samurai and attacked by Yamato and Momonosuke.

Kizaru has done literally nothing post timeskip. This motherfucker has just sat there doing absolutely nothing but sitting on a couch and clipping his fingernails. He is of no help despite being THE SPEED OF LIGHT. WHAT IS GOING ON IN THIS ORGANIZATION?

The Gorosei continuously get in this guy’s way for no reason and not only do they do that, they’re incredibly rude about it, and to pour salt in the wound they’re just chilling taking messages from Shanks who can apparently just drop on by whenever he pleases.

Your former co-worker Aokiji is now working with the One Piece equivalent of a damn terrorist who destroyed your old base and he also permenantly wounded your face and left scars on your body that will last forever.

There’s a super secret Special Agent Force that’s apparently not within your control but they work directly under the Celestial Dragons. They get killed by Kaido and fail all mission’s objectives. The most successful one has only managed to BARELY tie with a former Whitebeard Pirate member and we don’t even know if that Agent didn’t die too.

Buggy escaped. BUGGY. You know, the Clown, Buggy? Yeah, he escaped the new Military Super Weapon? Not enough to take down Buggy. He’s gone, out of there. And guess what? He’s a Yonko now too. One of the Four Emperors of the Sea. Buggy.

You know that Luffy guy? That guy that keeps getting in your way that YOUR SUBORDINATE, FUJITORA, WILLINGLY, LET GO? He’s a Yonko now too. And guess what, he’s got Cartoon powers now. Good luck dealing with whatever that is and how it works, hope you’re ready for your entire Fleet to get the Wile E. Coyote treatment while you can do nothing to stop it. Thanks, Fujitora, really cool Employee you turned out to be.

The Marines are a complete mess and the super Secret Illuminati Boss Im is doing nothing to remedy this situation and instead decides to play in the butterfly room and look at a giant hat.

The World Government and Navy are totally screwed.

– They let Sabo and the Revolutionary Army get away after infiltrating the holy land and burning the monument;

– They have to clean up the mess after Big Mom and Kaido were defeated. Like how their other territories will no longer be protected by a Yonko and other groups/emperors might conquer these territories like what Teach did after Whitebeard died;

– They have to resolve the coups/rebellions and Alabasta;

– They abolished the Shichibukai system at the worst time and have made them as their enemies;

– Nika has awakened and as the news continue to spread, more groups/countries will rebel against the World Government and join Luffy.

The Ultimate Goal of the “Flame Emperor” Sabo

As a result of the Revolutionary Army’s actions in Mary Geoise, Sabo has gained massive global influence and is now known as the “Flame Emperor”. Now, his influence is said to be even greater than Monkey D. Dragon’s himself.

Sabo’s introduction was always weird to me because I didn’t really see a reason for him to exist and why Oda would make him the 2nd in command of the Revolutionaries. Well I think with the latest chapter we finally know, Sabo will be the one to take on Im and the World Government.

From the beginning One Piece was never about fighting the Marines, they were just the villans of the week like pre timeskip Smoker or roadblocks like Aokiji and Kizaru. But beating them was never the goal of the series. I think Oda realized during Marineford that he had too many antagonists for the Straw Hats to beat and it would just take too long and be way too drawn out which is probably why he made Big Mom and Kaido team up so he could take them out of the story together.

So my crackpot theory is we’re going to have 2 arcs going on at the same time with Luffy going on the fulfill his destiny of being Joy Boy and whatever that entails. While Sabo and the Revolutionaries take on the Marines and the World Government. Most likely ending in a twin defeat of Blackbeard and Im at the same time by Luffy and Sabo respectively.

Could Luffy’s Mother Have Been a Celestial Dragon?

First I was thinking why has she not been mentioned, and how did Garp even get Luffy under his care.

Luffy didn’t even know he had a father and as of yet no one questioned him on his mother either Garp has not said anything either as if its someone higher up said not to. Something of the utmost secrecy.

My theory is that Luffy’s mom was a Celestial Dragon. Speaking of Dragon, his dad was a Marine, who takes every opportunity to encourage the young generation to follow in his footsteps, so it stands to reason that Dragon was a Marine, and probably a very highranking one. Probably highranking enough to go to Mary Geoise and act as bodyguard to World Nobles. I think that through some weird fate Dragon encountered her and they fell in love. They had a forbidden child and the Tenryūbito killed her for laying with a commoner and worse a member of the D. Clan, so Dragon barely escaped with Luffy.

The World Government or even a select few of the highest rankings knew of this betrayal of one of the Tenryūbito and learnt that the new born baby was entrusted to Garp. They ordered him to keep Luffy a secret and never reveal what blood flows through his veins. This could also lead back to why Garp has Luffy growing up in East Blue, in a place where no one really cared about.

Oda explained why Robin’s and Nami’s busts in Wano get hidden away

Question: I have a question, Odacchi. The women you draw almost always have a large bust. When they’re in Wano, they all wear kimonos and I’ve noticed that their busts get hidden away. I’m curious. Is it really okay even if Japanese women don’t have big busts??? 

Oda: Yes, this topic. Before, when I didn’t know much about kimonos, I drew chests with their normal emphasis. However, I received a lot of letters from fans who were kimono pros telling me women with large busts would purposefully find ways to hide them to emphasize the beauty of their silhouette as well as teaching me tips on how they do this.

Well in the end, the way anybody wears their clothes is up to them but I was convinced that the beauty of kimono lies in the silhouette (body line) so that’s what I’ve been emphasizing in my drawing! If they took them off, it would be incredible!!

Why Dragon was present at Gol D. Roger’s Execution?

In chapter 0, during Roger’s execution, we see several notorious pirates present in Loguetown like Shanks, Buggy, Doflamingo, Mihawk, Moria, Crocodile. We also see the infamous Monkey D. Dragon before he got his tattoo.

Why would he have any interest in the execution of the Pirate King? He is the only one with a rather concerned and serious look in the panel. (You might say Mihawk as well, but Mihawk seems like he is just merely observing)

Along with Buggy and Shanks, he is the only one who seems a bit worried or sad for the execution. Not entirely tearing up or sobbing like Shanks or Buggy, but it’s almost as if he were concerned or – at the very least – understood, to some extent, why Roger chose to be executed.

Is it possible that he may have spoken to Roger at some point before his execution? Maybe Roger recognized him as Garp’s son and a fellow member of the D.

I think that Roger and Dragon definitely met. I believe that Roger may have spoken a bit about the history of the World and the Poneglyphs with Dragon – seeing as that he trusted Garp very much and that he was also a D. After the execution, I believe Dragon was inspired to start the Revolutionary Army.

Dragon has a very good sense of justice, as we saw in the ASL flashback, when he notes that Sabo thinks just like he thinks about the status of the nobles and how society worked.

In the Reverie flashback of Vivi, we saw that Dragon had just began to be recognized as a threat to the World Government, so he couldn’t have been a Revolutionary at the time of Roger’s execution. In chapter 100, as Luffy is spared from being executed by Buggy, we see Dragon with a rather badass self-monologue.

“That which cannot be stopped: inherited will, a man’s dream, and the flow of time. As long as a man continues to seek the answers to freedom, these things shall never be stopped” – These were the words of Gol D. Roger. I believe Roger spoke these words DIRECTLY to Dragon, before having said it to the public in his execution.

-Inherited Will: I believe Roger may have told Dragon about the lineage of the D. Just like he told Whitebeard about it.

-A Man’s Dream: I believe this is a reference to what the Roger Pirates learned about the Ancient Kingdom and the Will of their leader – Joy Boy.

-The Flow of Time: It has been 800 years since the fall of the Ancient Kingdom and the end of the Void Century – only time will bring these things together in motion.

Although I don’t think Dragon knew the entirety of the Void Century as Roger, Rayleigh, Scopper Gaban and the others did, I believe Dragon’s learning of the Will of D. set out on a mission to overthrow the World Government and their injustice to bring it True Justice and Freedom.

That is why Dragon got those Shandian-like tattoos on his face – maybe as a sign of his lineage to the D. Clan and the Ancient Kingdom – as we know the Shandian’s were, at the very least, an ally of Joy Boy and the Ancient Kingdom.

The Reason why Shanks announced it’s time to claim the ONE PIECE!

I had this theory in mind during the void month but wasn’t sure about it but the new chapter had something that made me work on it.

There is a lot of mystery surrounding Shanks’ character and he has way too less screen time for anyone to predict something like this. Right?

However, there have been a lot of subtle hints surrounding him which made me think in this direction.

• Shanks promised Buggy that they’ll get to Laugh Tale on their own ships but in the past 24 years he didn’t make any step to obtain the Road Poneglyphs (except the one that he PROBABLY has). It seems as if he was waiting for something. For someone.

• The Prophecy: In Fishman Island Oden and Roger heard a conversation between two Sea Kings about the birth of two sovereigns. One being Shirahoshi and other most probably being Joy Boy. The two sovereigns had 25 years to meet at that time. Now we’re just one year(in world) away from that meeting. Luffy already met Shirahoshi at the 24th year but his Nika devil fruit had not awakened yet.

• Gomu Gomu No Mi: Luffy ate the fruit around the 9th year since the prophecy. One year before Shirahoshi’s birth. That means that Shanks was trying to CREATE the next Joy Boy (from the latest chapter it’s obvious that Shanks knew the truth behind the Gomu Gomu no Mi/ Hito Hito no Mi, Model: Nika). And if you read chapter1 again you’ll find that it was not meant for Luffy to eat the fruit. Shanks probably wanted Ace to eat it. But when he heard the same words Roger said then he was convinced that Luffy is the one. Then he inspired him to come out to the sea and gave him the trademark strawhat.

• The Roger Pirates: It took Roger 14 years to just reach Lodestar Island but Luffy’s ALREADY knocking on the gate of Laugh Tale? Luffy’s voyages have always seemed a bit too convenient. Why was Oden’s last wish opening Wano’s borders? Why did Rayleigh go out of his way to teach Luffy? Why now of all times is Shanks going after the One Piece? Why did Roger give himself in to the Navy suddenly after returning from Laugh Tale? What did Roger say to Shanks after returning from Laugh Tale?

• Now, the final part ‘The wild guess’. After reaching Laugh Tale, Roger learned the secrets of the world. He found out that he was not Joy Boy. They were  25 years “too early”. Since Roger was gonna die soon, he made measures to make sure that Joy Boy can appear in the next 25 years. He helped the Straw Hats do a speedrun indirectly.

After returning from Laugh Tale, Roger instructed his crew to pave the way for the next Joy Boy. He probably made these key instructions:

SHANKS → To find the next Joy Boy AND…?

ODEN→ To Open the Wano’s borders so that Joy Boy could reach Pluton.

RAYLEIGH →To gatekeep the New World and make sure that Joy Boy is strong enough.

 

ROGER→ To inspire the next Joy Boy. To make sure they do set out to the sea. TO CREATE THE NEW ERA.

In the latest chapter Shanks said that it is time to CLAIM the ONE PIECE. Because the wait is over. Before saying this Shanks was looking at Luffy’s bounty poster which would’ve made him sure that Joy Boy has finally awakened.

And hence he is going to claim the One Piece which I personally think is URANUS and give it to Luffy. The final step of Roger’s Plan.

One Piece fandom loses it over Luffy’s Gear 5 debut in Film: Red, blames Toei management

If there is one thing that One Piece's fandom has been waiting to see animated, it is Luffy’s Gear 5 form. Since its first appearance, it has quickly become one of the most beloved and hyped forms in the entire franchise.

Fans have been waiting for a long time to see this amazing transformation get animated for the first time. Unfortunately for them, Gear 5 will be making its debut in the upcoming One Piece Film: Red instead of the animated show. Fans were appalled by the news and have been complaining all over Twitter because of it.

Throughout the years, Luffy has been gaining power and more control over his various powers, becoming the amazing warrior we know today. With the help of the abilities granted to him by his Gomu-Gomu no Mi, Luffy’s power has been growing exponentially, reaching levels no one in the world expected him to.

In reality, his Devil Fruit is the Mythical Zoan-type, Hito-Hito no Mi, Model: Nika. This means Luffy has the abilities of the ancient Sun God, Nika, a being revered by slaves in the past because of his power to liberate people and bring smiles to their faces.

Luffy awakening his fruit and becoming the embodiment of Nika was a moment of the outmost importance for the One Piece fandom. It meant that Luffy was finally becoming the next Joy Boy, the warrior that would unify the world and stop the tyrannical government that had been abusing innocents for years.

Fans love this transformation, not only because of what it signifies in the story, but also because it is just incredible to look at. The design is outstanding, the powers it grants are incredible and hilarious, and it is the culmination of Luffy's years of training.

The One Piece fandom was expecting Gear 5 to make its animated debut in the anime series during Luffy’s fight against Kaido. Sadly, this will not be the case, seeing as it has been that theealed the transformation will debut in the upcoming One Piece Film: Red.

While fans are excited to finally see this new power in an animated form, they are sorely disappointed Toei did not wait for the anime to reveal it before using it in a movie. Not only will this take away from the hype of seeing the form for the first time in the anime, but it will also confuse fans who have not read the manga.

Naturally, fans have been complaining about this decision from the moment the news was revealed. The One Piece fandom cannot comprehend what decisions the film's team made.

Some fans have been comparing this situation to the revelation of Gear 2 Luffy in a movie before it was animated in the manga.

Nonetheless, others have been remarking that Gear 2 was a power Luffy was working on for a while before it was revealed. His Gear 5 form is something he acquired because of his determination to defeat Kaido.

The reveal should have been a special moment for the One Piece fandom, seeing it in action for the first time against the Yonko, as it was supposed to happen. That is why so many fans are dissatisfied with the choices Toei is making regarding this transformation.

It is likely that Oda himself was approached about this idea and he was okay with showing Gear 5 in the film. But it could also be Toei's executives taking advantage of the hype that surrounds this form to make the movie more appealing to fans.

Gear 5 will always be an iconic and beloved transformation for the One Piece fandom and seeing it will be great. But the community feels that marking the move's debut in a movie that is not confirmed to be canon to the main story seems a little disrespectful.

Since the movie is only days away from being released, fans will be expecting it to be an enjoyable experience that can do justice to Gear 5 Luffy’s legacy.
