Charlie Puth’s “Left And Right” Creative Director Matthew Daniel Siskin Receives Criticism For Misspelling BTS Jungkook’s Name

Visual Artist and Creative Director Matthew Daniel Siskin (also known as Gambles) is receiving criticism after a misspelling of BTS Jungkook‘s name.

Finally, after months of anticipation, American singer-songwriter Charlie Puth‘s collaboration with BTS’s Jungkook is out, and it has been met with great reactions from fans. Not only is the song a certified bop and innovative, but the music video is fun and vibrant, showcasing both singers’ skills and their chemistry.

Still, a member of Charlie Puth’s creative team has been met with criticism.

Matthew Daniel Siskin is a creative director for music artists. He uses his Instagram account (@work.pile) as a portfolio, showcasing all the artists he has worked with.

So, following the release of Charlie Puth’s “Left and Right,” featuring Jungkook, Matthew Daniel Siskin updated his Instagram. He served as the art director for this iconic collaboration.

Yet, ARMYs immediately noticed a major misspelling of the BTS maknae‘s name. Rather than “Jungkook,” the post in question read “YUNK KOOK.” Matthew Daniel Siskin quickly responded to the criticism, explaining that Jungkook had asked him to stylize it as such. He actually meant that Jungkook asked for the space at the center of his name.

“YUNG,” on the other hand, was clearly not requested by Jungkook. It was definitely a typo.

ARMYs pointed out that Jungkook would never ask for his name to be misspelled, considering he has previously corrected the pronunciation of his name. On the British talk show The Graham Norton Show, he corrected host Graham Norton who had pronounced his name as “Yungkook.”

Matthew Daniel Siskin later confessed and apologized that “YUNG” was, in fact, a typo he made. He joked that it was now Jungkook’s “rap name” as he hadn’t wanted to take down the post after receiving so many likes.

There had already been a lot of drama circulating the release of the “Left and Right” music video that even Charlie Puth was confused about. The MV seemed to have been delayed.

So, Matthew Daniel Siskin likely made the misspelling amidst that chaos. He was the one Charlie Puth had texted in the screenshot uploaded on Twitter, after all.

Still, despite his hesitation to delete the original post, Matthew Daniel Siskin accepted the criticism.

So, he deleted it and reuploaded it with the needed correction.

While the entire thing may be deemed unprofessional, Matthew Daniel Siskin had not misspelled Jungkook’s name before. He previously posted about the collaboration on his other Instagram account.

He also would not be the only one misspelling Jungkook’s name since the release of “Left and Right.” Official Spotify playlist “Pop Rising” identified the singers in its cover image as “Charlie Puth, Jung Koog.”

Likewise, years ago, Charlie Puth infamously misspelled Jungkook’s name in a tweet, reacting to the idol’s cover of his song “We Don’t Talk Anymore.” Of course, later on, they would collaborate for a live song performance and form a friendship.

Nevertheless, Matthew Daniel Siskin attempted to make things right. Despite his mistake, ARMYs are appreciative of updating his post and his hard work on the visuals for the MV.

Matthew Daniel Siskin has also recognized the talent in ARMY and fanart. He even has proposed hiring some.

The friendship between BLACKPINK’s Rosé, Kim Go Eun, and Lee Ji Ah is still going strong!

On June 24, Lee Ji Ah shared a photo from a recent hangout with Rosé and Kim Go Eun on Instagram—and soon afterwards, Rosé proudly reposted Lee Ji Ah’s post on her own Instagram story.

BTS’s Agency Denies Marriage Rumors Involving RM

Big Hit Music has spoken up about marriage rumors involving BTS’s RM.

Recently, rumors of RM’s marriage to a non-celebrity surfaced on one website. One netizen (hereby referred to as “A”) wrote, “I received a call from a junior colleague who is seven years younger than me saying, ‘I’m marrying RM.’ She’s from a prestigious university and a decent family. I heard that she met RM at a fan meeting between 2014 and 2015.”

“A” also unveiled texts she exchanged with her junior colleague who said, “I can’t tell you the exact date, but he’s a celebrity. It’s still a sensitive time, so just keep it to yourself. [The groom-to-be] is the leader of BTS.”

The YouTube channel Sojang, which previously unveiled the relationship between Seo Taeji and Lee Ji Ah, also reported that RM is preparing for marriage. They commented, “When asked when he wants to get married, he said at the age 32 or 33. He’s currently 29 years old, so that means he wants to get married soon.”

In response, Big Hit Music stated, “RM’s marriage rumors are groundless. We are continuously taking action against malicious rumors that started on YouTube.”

Back in 2021, the agency also denied RM’s dating rumors.

BTS’s V Spills On Hardships Faced During 2022 GRAMMYs Performance And His Viral Moment With Olivia Rodrigo

BTS was very much the talk of The 2022 GRAMMYs (also known as The 64th GRAMMY Awards). The group was nominated for “Best Pop/Duo/Performance” and performed their hit song “Butter.”

Still, one particular moment broke the internet that night courtesy of V.

There was a surprise appearance by American singer Olivia Rodrigo. BTS’s V leaned in to whisper something to her before bringing out a card from behind her hair and throwing it toward Jungkook on stage.

Netizens couldn’t get over this “flirty” moment between V and Rodrigo. It also inspired many memes as ARMYs tried to guess what V must have said to her.

In fact, we’re still talking about this viral moment. In a new Weverse Magazine interview following the release of BTS’s anthology album Proof, interviewer Myungseok Kang asked him about it.

"You made headlines because of your staged conversation with Olivia Rodrigo in the introduction of your performance of ‘Butter’ at the Grammy Awards. I’m guessing a lot of people were asking what you two talked about. I’m sure it must have been difficult to really talk under the circumstances." — Myungseok Kang

V confirmed that people asked him a lot about it at the time too. While everyone had been so curious about what he said to her, he revealed that he was so nervous about the rest of the choreography that it wasn’t a big deal, and all he needed to do for that quick take was whisper nothing.

"I got asked about that a lot. I was honestly really nervous there because of the clothing choreography. A light whisper in her ear probably would have been enough in that situation, but I think I just said ‘blah blah blah’ without saying anything real. Leading up to the moment, I thought I could just show it on my face or set the scene—and thought I didn’t have to say anything in particular—so I wasn’t saying anything special. Olivia Rodrigo knew that’s what I was doing, too. For a 10- or 15-second take, the performers don’t have to say anything special and can still make it look fun." — V

Myungseok Kang asked how Olivia Rodrigo was ultimately selected as V’s acting partner. He said, “I understand that performance for the Grammys took place under various urgent, quickly evolving circumstances, so how did it end up that you would act with Olivia Rodrigo?” It turned out to be a spontaneous choice made by The Recording Academy.

"Ah, that was a suggestion from the people at the Grammys that was agreed to on the same day as the show. So I had no way of knowing who I would end up seated next to." — V

V, a lover of movies, revealed his inspiration for the performances. Myungseok Kang had commented, “In a situation like that, you must have had to set everything up and capture the right feeling right away.”

"I kept thinking about the Now You See Me movies. The way the performance on the stage unfolded also reminded me of Jason Bourne, but for talking with Olivia Rodridgo, I thought it was really important to capture the feeling of the way they con people while talking to them in Now You See Me. I thought maybe I should just speak to her casually, and that it would be like magic if I could steal her card without her noticing while we’re talking, and how it would look if we locked eyes in a fun way. Things like that." — V

Myungseok Kang pointed out that V “had to act and throw the card before the song started, then go up on stage to do the performance.” He added, “There must have been a lot you had to think about.”

Since V had so much on his mind with the performance, especially when to throw the card over to Jungkook, the “conversation” with Olivia Rodrigo was not his main focus.

"Yes. So if we had kept going with the conversation, I could have missed the timing on throwing the card. I was counting the beat in my head the whole time to keep track of when I should throw it. I kept going, One, two, three, four, in my head." — V

V also revealed the difficulties he faced when acting in the “Butter” performance. He couldn’t even hear what Olivia Rodrigo said due to in-ears.

"And it was hard to know exactly what Olivia Rodrigo was saying since I had in-ears in both my ears at the time. Honestly, I was so nervous." — V

He was especially nervous about the intricate clothing choreography. While it was one of the more complicated moves BTS had to do, they had little time to prepare. Jin had suffered an injury, and J-Hope and Jungkook had been quarantined due to COVID-19.

"I was so worried over doing the clothing choreography properly and it was all I could talk about before going on stage. We only had the day of and the day before to get it right before going up there all together, so I was more worried about that than anything else."— V

Myungseok Kang added, “It’s the kind of performance where, even if it goes well during practice, it won’t necessarily go well live.” V agreed, “Yes, exactly. I was really worried, so I was opposed to that part of the performance in the beginning.”

"And it didn’t go well during the rehearsal, either, and we knew we should have been going on stage full of confidence, but we went up there feeling nervous, so I was afraid that we were going to mess up. We ended up deciding to do it anyway, but we did pull it off and the response was fantastic, so. (laughs)"— V

So, V clearly went through a lot, although it turned out great in ARMYs’ eyes. So, Myungseok Kang asked him how he felt once it was over. V was relieved naturally, but as a true fan, he looked forward to seeing others’ performances.

"It’s finally over. (laughs) I should go watch the other artists’ performances and have a good time. That’s the only thing I was thinking."— V

ARMYs Suspect BTS May Have Spilled On Jin’s Love Life

Some are convinced Jin is happily in a secret relationship.

BTS celebrated their 9th anniversary with the annual FESTA Dinner Party. It included lots of chaotic moments as the members had some drinks and naturally got emotional as they reflected on the past and future. Yet, one Jin-focused moment, often overlooked, has some netizens talking.

The members revealed that their shared home contract had ended. So, after 10+ years of living together, everyone now has moved and officially lives separately. Before, they all lived together in a dorm, and members shared bedrooms.

They described their unique interior decorating styles. Maknae Jungkook was exposed for having a substantial amount of mattresses and diffusers. RM‘s place was described as an “art house,” while Suga‘s was inspired by his father. The eldest member, Jin, was described as having a “newlywed” home.

It’s a bit surprising description. We already knew that Jin lives in a luxury apartment and has a collection of his most prized possessions on display for when you visit.

So, his home likened to that of newlyweds, seemed a bit strange. Nonetheless, one member’s reaction to RM’s words has caused suspicions among ARMYs.

Jin himself was shocked that his place of all would be compared to a newlywed home considering he had just revealed that he had spent most of his free time lately gaming! That certainly doesn’t sound like a newlywed, but RM defended his statement by pointing out that it’s “bright” and “white.”

Regardless, Jimin had a unique reaction to the conversation. He immediately started laughing, covering his face. Finally, he asked, “How much of all this can we air?” Is he implying that some secrets were just spilled?

Most didn’t think much of this conversation at the time. Yet, an ARMY (@zani__fj on TikTok) shared an edit, highlighting Jimin’s reaction to RM comparing Jin’s home to that of “newlyweds.”

The video went viral with 1 million views, and 205.2K likes in just a day. The comment section is filled with ARMYs suspicious that Jin may be in a secret relationship and that Jimin knows something…

ARMYs definitely wouldn’t be surprised if Jin comes out as being at least in a long-term relationship. He is 29 years old, after all!
