Rumor: Delayed Nvidia GTX 1630 Could Be Launching Tomorrow

It's been a trying time for anyone looking for a new Nvidia or AMD graphics card this past year and a half. Fortunately, it appears as though the market is healing now, which is good timing, seeing as the next GPU generation is just a few months away. With the former's Ada Lovelace possibly coming this September and the latter's RDNA 3 cards aiming for an October release, now appears to be the closing moments of this era. However, that's not before team green gets one more product out.

According to a couple of reports from Videocardz, it looks as though Nvidia is ready to launch the GTX 1630, and it is rumored to be coming out tomorrow, June 28. There's also been an update to retailer Colorful's website, which appears to confirm the budget graphics card's impending release. This GPU will represent the low end of the hardware range, and as the prefix GTX suggests, is actually based off the Turing architecture, which was originally released back in 2018.

This latest news comes after the card's released was said to have been pushed back. It was announced not long ago that Nvidia had delayed the release of the GTX 1630, but at the time it was unclear when it would be coming out. In terms of the hardware's specs, the 1630 will feature 4 GB of GDDR6 RAM but will be on a 64-bit memory bus, rather than the 128-bit bus of the GTX 1650 and 1050 Ti cards from the same generation. It will, however, sport a speedier boost clock than the other two models and will have a TDP of 75W. In general, this will be a more suitable card for anyone looking for something much cheaper, but with lower specifications.

With Intel having just launched its Arc desktop GPUs, but only in China for the time being, the race continues for all three tech giants to be number one in the industry. Unfortunately, team blue seems to have struggled to make any significant headway so far and could be left behind once the new generation kicks in later this year.

Of course, Nvidia will still have its old rival to battle it out with. Given that AMD is supposedly working on a very powerful RDNA 3, team green will definitely have its work cut out for it. Having said that, it's still early days yet, but it looks as though both companies won't have much to fear from the newcomers. At least not yet, anyway.

Nvidia RTX 4090 Could Have More Performance Than Previously Thought

As the next GPU generation gets closer and closer, the rumors keep coming and coming, and recent speculations give insight into Nvidia's 40-series.

At some point this year, the graphics card industry is going to make the leap into the next generation, offering up even more powerful hardware than what's currently on offer. In theory, at least. While AMD is looking to launch RDNA 3, Nvidia is going toe-to-toe with its biggest rival, preparing to release the Ada Lovelace range within the next few months. Of course, many are keeping their ears to the ground about some insider information, and a recent leak suggests team green's upcoming RTX 4090 could pack more of a punch.

According to a recent tweet from industry leaker kopite7kimi, as spotted by PCGamesN, the next big release for Nvidia powered by its new architecture may have better performance than first thought. While it could well still feature 24 GB of VRAM, on a 384-bit memory bus, it's possible that the company's upcoming flagship release could have 16,384 CUDA cores, whereas it was previous rumored to have 16, 118. The leaker also suggests that people should not be expecting a lower MSRP on any of the Lovelace range.

When the RTX 4090, and other models, will finally hit the shelves is not quite known yet. There is a possibility that Nvidia may have delayed the launch of the 40-series. Initially, it was believed that it would be launching sometime this August. However, the new release window puts it in September. Despite the pushback by a month, if it is indeed true, this will still put team green slightly ahead of AMD, with both companies leaving Intel in the dust as the latter drags its heels about releasing the long-awaited Arc desktop graphics cards.

At the earliest, AMD may be launching RDNA 3 cards this October, so the end of Q3 and beginning of Q4 could be an interesting time if both tech giants are considering these as their launch windows. Of course, it goes without saying that none of these details have been officially confirmed yet, so as always, readers are advised to take the information with a grain of salt.

Although Intel has started releasing its Arc GPUs now, but only in China for the minute, neither Nvidia nor AMD have anything to worry about from team blue. Instead, these giants of the industry will likely be concentrating on making sure that they get ahead of the current competition. With any luck, there will be some official announcements soon about what to expect from Ada Lovelace and RDNA 3, respectively.
